IA40790 Digital Resilience

Academic Year 2023/2024

This course will prepare students for the digital workplace, by helping them to embrace innovation and change, consider the ethics involved with digital change and prepare them to cope with the velocity of disruption that the future will continue to bring.

The impact of the pandemic led to an unpredictable cycle of sectoral openings and closing, and a radical transformation of working practices and use of technologies across almost all industries. This module will help students develop individual digital resilience and transferable skills to navigate digital transformation - be they employees, unemployed or self-employed.

This module will turn the focus inward and forward, focusing on mindset change, to create the personal resilience that is needed, in order to adapt to this shift and to keep adapting, and be able to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by subsequent waves of change.

This module is run as part of the Graduate Certificate in Digital Technology, Transformation & Resilience. This programme will teach students how to understand, navigate and embrace the digital world. It will shed new light on the digital economy and steer learners towards a digital mindset that the future world of work requires. Students will be encouraged to build their network of peers spanning numerous disciplines and organisations.

Providing equality of access to, and a critical awareness of, digital skills and resilience will further support the University’s strategic Core Objective 2 of providing “an inclusive educational experience that defines international best practice and prepares our graduates to thrive in the present and future societies”.
