On completion of this module students should be able to:
• Understand the role of a nutritionist in a nutrition work/research environment,
• Overview their PWE placement and the organisation in which they completed it,
• Describe any procedures/analyses they used while on their PWE placement,
• Have implemented, analysed and written up an independent research project,
• Understand professional conduct and the Association for Nutrition’s Standards of Ethics, Conduct and Performance,
• Demonstrate awareness of their own Professional Development needs.

Students will get feedback from their UCD tutor and their PWE supervisor throughout their placement. They will also self-assess their progress through learning review and core competency mapping tasks. Students will get individual feedback on their PWE thesis when they return to their final year following upon request.
