clear understanding of the major themes and events that have shaped the Muslim community and wider society;
confidence when engaging in discussion, debate and written presentation of the course’s key issues;
appropriate use of theoretical frameworks to explore ideas expressed in poetry, prose, film and theatre;
critical and analytical thinking with regard to key concepts such as multiculturalism, hybridity, Orientalism and the secular-religious divide;
highly developed skills in literary and filmic analysis;

All students will receive written feedback from the module coordinator on their ePosters and essays, with the opportunity for face-to-face discussion too. All students will have the opportunity to submit plans/drafts for their assessments prior to submission, with a view to receiving written and/or face-to-face feedback from the module coordinator. There will also be the opportunity for peer feedback during discussions of the ePosters.
