Upon completion of the module, students will be able to:
• Engage actively in research;
• Design a research project;
• Understand the role of theory in human and/or physical geography research;
• Conduct out a piece of research;
• Make ethical decisions in their research practice;
• Present and communicate research results in an appropriate form;
• Recognise the key features of high-quality research in the social sciences;
• Identify how their research skills can be applied/are relevant in the workplace and other settings outside of the academy.
The module will be entire based on a piece of research work. Students will work closely with a faculty member to explore and analyse a jointly agreed research topic.

• Feedback individually to students, on an activity or draft prior to summative assessment
Verbal and written feedback will be provided by the supervisor to the student on research tasks and draft chapters of the research report.
