Public engagement is an increasingly recognised requirement for researchers, especially in the area of agriculture, food and nutrition where misinformation in the media is rife. Developing a knowledge for the way the media cover science and from that a narrative of how to tell the story of your research in and engaging and impactful way is an invaluable skill.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this module students should
- Be able to talk about their research in a way that is clear and understandable by a non-science audience
- Have the experience of doing a radio interview and receive feedback
- Have the experience of writing a newspaper article
- Understand the role of social media in disseminating their research findings
- Understand the importance and factors to be considered in Public Engagement activities
