ENVB40720 Vegetation Ecology

This module provides background information on the Irish flora and basic ecology of major terrestrial habitat types. The main emphasis is on survey methodologies and review of literature/data. The objective of the course is to provide a fundamental understanding of vegetation ecology and how these can be used to solve applied problems with respect to environmental protection and assessment.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the student should recognise the main terrestrial vegetation habitat types, be familiar with sampling options and requirements, and confidently undertake review and reporting on vegetation/habitat data.
