By the end of this module students will have:
1. Identified a research question in relation to children and youth and provide a clear rationale for the research question(s).
2. Demonstrated critical understanding of the field and capacity to synthesise theory and research through a review of relevant literature in the area.
3. Demonstrated critical understanding of the range of research methodologies appropriate to their research question, including data sources, sampling, and proposed methods of analysis.
4. Conducted, analysed and presented in a dissertation a small-scale study with critical reflection on strength and limitations of the methodology

• Feedback individually to students, on an activity or draft prior to summative assessment
• Feedback individually to students, post-assessment
Students are provided with ongoing feedback from supervisor on their developing research plans. Supervisors give feedback on two drafts of each of the main dissertation chapters. Final summaries feedback is given after the submitted thesis has been graded.
