CULP40280 Work Experience

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module is an eight week internship with a cultural organisation. It offers students the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts developed in the programme to the practical work environment. It also provides an opportunity to explore career options and to extend professional networking. The internship can be largely project based, with the student undertaking a specific project which has been identified by the host organisation and developed in consultation with the host organisation and the university.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
The internship provides an opportunity for students to exercise reflective capacities acquired in the Management and Arts Lives modules, and to apply practical skills in the fields of finance, marketing, and legal issues as distilled and refined through the Business Planning exercise in the Spring semester. The nature of the internship itself is largely determined by the host organisation and as such will test the student's capacity for adapting to the workplace environment.
