CRWT10040 Writers At Work

Academic Year 2023/2024

The course explores the various ways in which creative writers approach their work by looking at exemplary texts by canonical and contemporary authors in prose, poetry, and non-fiction. It analyses how a work progresses from initial concepts and research, through the revision of multiple drafts to various print forms. The module offers students the opportunity to apply studied strategies to their own creative and reflective texts. It is a unique collaborative module designed and taught by English and CW colleagues, in both the scholarly and creative fields, using UCD archives and the personal archives of individual authors.
