CHEN50010 School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering Research Seminar Series

Academic Year 2018/2019

This module will introduce students to the practice of the effective oral presentation of work of a scientific and technical nature. Each student will be expected to make at least one oral presentation to an audience comprised of both experts and non-experts in the field, and be responsible for the advertising of their scheduled talk. Students are also expected to attend all seminars associated with this module and, when requested, deliver a report of the key elements discussed at any particular seminar. Students will receive feedback from attending academics and students regarding the quality of presentations and the means of improvement, where appropriate. Students will also receive feedback and training with respect to improving their own presentation skills, as well as prepare a brief self-critique report on this.
Attendance to relevant lectures on the Design-of-Experiments (DoX), as part of CHEN40210, will be a feature, alongside an assignment in this area.
