On completion of this module students should have in-depth understanding of Mass Spectrometry, its principles and their application. The students should also be able to approach the best Mass Spectrometric techniques for various classes of compounds to elucidate their structures and composition in a given matrix.
Indicative Module Content:A range of modern mass spectrometry instrumentation and techniques will be covered. These include LCMS (quadrapoles, TOF and orbitrap), GCMS (EI and CI) and other techniques such as MALDI, ion mobility etc.
