On completion of this module the student will have gained experience of working in a research environment and of devising and executing solutions to research problems. They will have knowledge of a range of chemical and instrumental methods and of the design of research projects.
They will be able to carry out an effective literature review pertaining to the specific area and will have gained experience in the output of scientific work both in a thesis and in oral presentations.

This research module is intended for students of the Taught MSc by negotiated learning and students taking this should have registered for 60 credits of level 4 taught material during semesters 1 and 2.
