On completion of the course students should be able to: (i) demonstrate an understanding of the principles and implications of configurational and conformational isomerism, (ii) demonstrate an understanding of the scope and application of methods for elucidation of the mechanisms of organic reactions, and (iii) carry out a multi-step synthetic sequence safely and efficiently.
