Origin of cellular and tissue structure and function, self-renewal and differentiation, stem cells (e.g. iPSCs), totipotency-pluripotency-unipotency, 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering in practice, implanted devices, functional biomaterials, challenges in ethics, good manufacturing practices and potential applications.
The aim is to give the students a clear understanding of regenerative medicine and the role of tissue engineering in realising the commercial potential.
