BMGT3006D Business Strategy

Academic Year 2023/2024

In today’s challenging global environment organizations are frequently challenged with their strategic management and planning processes. They may find it challenging to reconcile short-term tactical moves with long-term strategic goals, or have difficulty building the capabilities needed to execute their strategies. The increasingly dynamic and complex environment in which most organizations operate calls for more fully developed professional employees, who are better aware of the impact of strategic decisions on business operations. In this module students will develop an understanding of the three key stages of the strategy process. The first stage begins with understanding the external and internal context of the organization. The second stage examines the range of choices open to the organization, from business strategies and business models to growth strategies. The third stage is concerned with implementing strategy and the role of leadership and culture.
