This module builds on the learning and study skills acquired from BMGT1013D Skills for Higher Education (SHE). The module asks students to reflect on their professional and academic achievements and begin to articulate these into a career/personal development action plan.
It also introduces the students to the area of intercultural awareness, reflective learning and the importance of communication skills for both their further studies and their careers.

Learning Outcomes:

1) Identify and articulate the transferable skills and achievements gained from academic and personal/career-related activities that you have developed this year.

2) Evaluate your strengths and areas for development. Develop and implement a self-development plan which reflects on the actions needed to further enhance learning skills and strategies.

3) Develop your resilience and ability to cope with the demands of being a part-time mature student and a full-time working adult. Learn to recognise times when you are under pressure and how to manage these circumstances to allow you to succeed in a busy world.

4) Engage in peer review activities that require you to construct feedback for others.

On completion of this module you should be able to:
1. Navigate job marketing
2. Showcase skills and experience on your CV - in light of your progress on the DBS
3. Identify your skills and strengths both professionally and academically
4. Create an audio/visual presentation from beginning to end with a team of peers
5. understand assessment and how to evaluate the level of your own learning and that of others


Indicative Module Content:

There is no exam for this module and assessment is continuous.

Students will undertake a number of compulsory activities in advance, during, and after the Block Release sessions for the module

Grading is based on your demonstration of skills through in-class activities and continuous assessments on a pass/fail basis, in a similar manner to SHE.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This is a blended format module consisting of face to face classes as well as out-of-class activities, lectures, and readings. Students will attend classes and have the opportunity to engage in active learning. Classes will include discussion and group work to engage with the module content. Students will also complete some pre-sessional and post-sessional activities as part of their continuous assessment of the module.
