Political consulting  is  of growing  importance nowadays in fast changing  societies.  Current challenges arise in the fields of environmental policy and development cooperation according to climate change, globalisation, migration, poverty, north‐south divide etc.
The course content focuses on:
- Approaches, processes, fields and actors of political consulting;
- Lecture series by external experts from nature and conservation, development cooperation, fight against poverty, equal rights, energy transition, biodiversity research etc.
- Best practice in the field of evidence-based environmental policy;
- Practical exercises on political consulting.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module, students will have a broad  understanding  of  political  consulting  issues  relating  to  these  topics. 
They should
-have gained an insight into practical work of political consultants by experts from academia, public and private organisations, and third sector
- become aware of political approaches, processes, fields and actors;
- understood key concepts in political consulting;
- be aware of possibilities to influence decision‐making processes;
- be able to analyse political advisers’ ways of professional and methodical performance.
