ARCT41170 Research Methods and Thesis Preparation

Academic Year 2023/2024

The aim of this module is to support the exploration and development of research thesis proposals that will be the basis for individual research in the Thesis Module in Summer. The student will be supported through workshops, seminars and thesis development with a specific focus on methods. Group seminars and individual meetings with supervisors will support the development of thesis topics.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Understand research methods
- Conceive and develop a research topic and the most appropriate methodology for its execution.
- Develop and communicate a coherent thesis proposal.
- Development of a coherent overview of the state-of-the-art in a selected and related field.
