ARCT41020 Summer School for UCD & NCAD Students

Academic Year 2023/2024

The International Architecture Summer School has been established to give an introduction to the Architecture, Art and Culture of Dublin. It also gives the opportunity to enhance and the students are encouraged to challenge their knowledge of Architecture and Urban Design of the Capital city. The overarching theme of the Summer School is CITY LIFE. Each students learning process will involve all aspects of this theme.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the student should be able to: Demonstrate an ability to critique, research and develop design proposals for specific briefs and projects on selected urban sites.Demonstrate an ability to identify, analyse and respond to some of the critical issues surrounding the design brief and proposal. Demonstrate the ability to sketch and record the contextual constraints and opportunities for designing in urban locations.
