ARCT20130 Imagining Architecture

Academic Year 2020/2021

This module provides a theoretical and technical grounding in image-making in the architectural designprocess. The module is divided into paired two-week sessions during which students will learn a specificskill set combined with an overview of historical and contemporary image making practice. Assignmentsare structured to allow for a development of technical proficiency and theoretical appreciation. Theobjective is that students will attain fluency in image-making.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module students should be able to -1. Create three dimensional visual representations of space in a variety of digital and analog media2. Demonstrate an understanding of the uses and effects of various modes of representation3. Source and learn from online resources such as video tutorials, online forums etc.4. Collate and re-represent their work in digital and analog format.5. Demonstrate a critical understanding of contemporary and historical representational practice.6. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of digital modelling and imaging software.
