ARCH41190 Themes in Archaeological Resea

Academic Year 2019/2020

This seminar-based module provides a high-level introduction to key themes in historic and prehistoric archaeology. The module includes themes ranging from human evolution and prehistoric societies, all the way through to post-Medieval archaeology, and will include seminars on methods and theory, as well as more historical/period-based issues. The main aim of this module is to get you to read, summarise and discuss archaeology, so the focus is not so much on what exact information you will learn or what arguments you will be exposed to, but rather on the process of developing the research skill of digesting, presenting and discussing previous written research.

The module is open for all MA and Graduate Diploma students in Archaeology.
