ARCH40760 How to Research Archaeology

Academic Year 2019/2020

This module is a high-level examination of the diversity and process of archaeological research, and how such research is undertaken in an Irish context. Based on seminars and independent learning and incorporating a short residential fieldtrip, we will use recently published books, journals and seminar papers as the basis for a wide-ranging consideration of the nature of modern archaeological research and how the results of such research are communicated. The module provides students with training in the preparation of reviews, presentation of papers, attending seminars and/or conferences and significant opportunity for discussion.
