This module provides a high-level introduction to key issues in the archaeology of prehistory. Learning is based around student-led seminars, chaired by academic or research staff within the School, examining a range of key intellectual and practical themes in the construction of the prehistoric past. These may include themes such as; time and scale; depositional practice; settlement and ritual; technological change; the nature of narratives etc.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module, students will have demonstrated

1. critical engagement with signficiant issues in the archaeology of the prehistoric past;
2. effective presentation of review papers in seminars;
3. effecture participation in academic discussion;
4. an ability to construct an in-depth argument;
5. an ability to work effectively both independently and in groups.
