ACM40680 Research Project

Academic Year 2020/2021

A research project is carried out by the student, in conjunction with one or more supervisors.

- The research is done in about 12 weeks.
- Oral Presentation of students' results takes place on week 12.
- After that, students are given some extra time to complete a full report.
- The grade will be based on an appropriate combination between the report and the presentation.
- The supervisor and a second marker will mark the report and the presentation.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this project the student will have:

(a) Gained an in-depth understanding of a significant topic in Applied and Computational Mathematics research.
(b) Written a dissertation on the topic, including a review of the theoretical background.
(c) Given an oral presentation communicating the key aspects and results of their project.
